Here I have collected most of the patterns which I have used to knit mittens.
The patterns are copied from two books. I have left the original reference numbers of the patterns as they are mentioned in these books (*) and (**). In the caption under the pattern you will find the origin of the mittens, and the year of that this pattern was added to the Latvian State database.
* Slava, M. Latviešu rakstainie cimdi, Rīga, Zinātne, 1999. (Latvian Ornamented Mittens). The numbers of these patterns are their archival numbers in the Latvia History museum , scientific archive of the Department of Etnography (numbers that start with an E) .
** Grasmane,M. Latvieša cimdi, Senā klēts, 2014 (Mittens of Latvia). The indicated number with CVVM – the number of the mitten pattern in the Latvia History museum Ethnography Fund.
